This dish is rich in calories but contains practically all food groups, making it perfect for lunches or dinners. If consumed in small quantities, calories are reduced, so it can also be used as a side dish.

  • Calories: 470 kcal.

  • Grams of fat: 7 gr. equivalent to 1 serving of fat

  • Grams of protein: 20 gr. equivalent to 3 servings of protein

  • Grams of carbohydrates: 80 gr. equivalent to 5 servings of grain/vegetable

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon of garlic (paste or finely chopped)

  • 2 cans of diced tomatoes (Pomi or Cirio)

  • 1 tablespoon of balsamic vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon of dried basil

  • 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes

  • 400 gr of short pasta

  • 500 gr of chopped broccoli

  • 1/4 cup of feta cheese (optional)

  • Salt to taste

Preparation Steps:

  • In a large pot, place salted water (fill at least 3/4 of the pot) and bring to a boil.

  • In a skillet, heat the oil over medium-low heat. Add the garlic, cook for one minute. Then add the tomatoes, vinegar, basil and pepper flakes. Increase the heat slightly and bring the sauce to a boil. Cook for 15 minutes, stirring frequently.

  • Add the pasta to the boiling water.

  • When the pasta is almost done, add the broccoli to the pot and cook for 2-3 minutes.

  • Drain the pasta and broccoli and place on a large deep plate, add the sauce, stir. Garnish with cheese.
