Slow Cooker: Beef Shank with Thyme and Rosemary

This option is for people who use a slow cooker. The recipe contains meat, some vegetables and potatoes so it could be enjoyed for lunch or dinner. The portions can depend on the size of meat that you cook.

Ingredients:

  • 500 gr of beef shank with external fat removed

  • 1/2 large onion, chopped

  • 250 gr of carrots (either sliced or baby carrots)

  • 1 large potato, cut into cubes

  • 1 large sweet potato, cut into cubes

  • 1/2 cup of water

  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tablespoon of flour

  • 1 teaspoon of dried rosemary

  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme

  • pepper to taste

  • 1/4 teaspoon of fennel seeds

Preparation:

  • Place the carrots, potato, sweet potato and onion in the slow cooker. Then place the meat on top.

  • In a deep bowl, mix all the remaining ingredients and then drizzle the meat and vegetables with the mixture.

  • Cover and cook on high temperature for approximately 3 hours.

  • When cooked, cut the meat and serve with the vegetables and potatoes.
