Tuna Burgers with Lemon and Thyme

A delicious way to enjoy tuna that's also very simple to prepare. You can use this dish for a weekend lunch or to take on outings, and the best part is that it's super light!!

A delicious way to enjoy tuna that’s also very simple to prepare. You can use this dish for a weekend lunch or to take on outings, and the best part is that it’s super light!!

  • Calories: 215 kcal.

  • Grams of fat: 1 gr.

  • Grams of protein: 16 gr. equivalent to two servings of protein

  • Grams of carbohydrate: 30 gr. equivalent to 2 servings of grains

Ingredients:

  • 1 large can of tuna in water, drained

  • 1 egg white

  • 30 grams of regular oats

  • 1/4 cup celery, finely chopped

  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 teaspoon thyme

  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

  • 2 burger buns or Bimbo thin bread

  • Spinach (to taste)

  • Tomato sauce (to taste)

Preparation:

  • Place the tuna, egg white, oats, celery, onion, thyme, and lemon juice in a deep bowl. Mix everything well using your hands.

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and spray with cooking oil spray.

  • Form two identical patties with the tuna mixture. Place them in the skillet. Cook on that side for 3-4 minutes or until golden. Carefully flip and cook on the other side for approximately 2 minutes or until cooked through.

  • Remove from the skillet and place the patties on each of the burger buns, add spinach leaves on top and a teaspoon of tomato sauce.
