Grilled Shrimp Skewers

Grilled foods tend to be a bit healthier due to their low added fat content and we typically use proteins and vegetables. This dish is perfect for an afternoon with friends, simple and it breaks away from what we traditionally cook on the grill.

  • Calories: 243 kcal.

  • Grams of fat: 19 gr. equals 2.5 fat servings

  • Grams of carbohydrates: 7 gr, equals half a carbohydrate serving

  • Grams of protein: 10 gr. equals 1.5 protein servings

Ingredients:

  • Skewer sticks

  • 24 large shrimp

  • 1/2 cup light soy sauce

  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped

  • 1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar

  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

  • 2 tablespoons peanut oil or any other

  • salt and pepper

  • 2 tablespoons toasted sesame seeds

Preparation:

  • Place the skewer sticks in a bowl with ice water for 1 hour. Then place one shrimp stretched on each skewer.

  • In a deep plate combine the soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, vinegar, and lemon juice. Set aside.

  • Place the skewers on a plate and drizzle with oil, season with salt and pepper

  • Place the skewers on the grill and cook 2 minutes on each side. Transfer to a serving plate, drizzle with the vinaigrette made previously and cover with sesame seeds.
