Turkey patties filled with cheese

This is an excellent alternative for those who do not consume beef. Turkey meat is quite lean, has a moderate flavor and can be used like any other type of meat. Ground turkey can be found at PriceSmart in the refrigerated or frozen section.

Nutritional content: 1 patty

Carbohydrate: 14 g equals 1 serving
Protein: 23 g equals 3 servings
Fat: 6 g equals 1 serving

Ingredients:

  • 230 g (8 oz) ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) shredded zucchini
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup oats
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 60 g Gouda cheese

Preparation:

  • Place all ingredients, except the cheese, in a large deep dish.
  • Mix the ingredients by hand until well combined.
  • Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions, approximately 115 g (4 oz) each.
  • Take one portion and divide it in half into two small patties, place 15 g of Gouda cheese in the center of one of the patties and then cover with the other to form a single patty. Repeat this step with the remaining 3 portions.
  • Place the patties in a pan with oil or spray and cook for 6 minutes on each side.
