This is a way to consume a low amount of calories. Additionally, it is a good source of protein.

Approximate Nutritional Content: (2 meatballs)

  • Calories: 95 kcal.

  • Grams of fat: 3 gr.

  • Grams of protein: 12 gr.

  • Grams of carbohydrates: 4 gr.

Note: nutritional information may vary according to the quantity and type of ingredients used.

Ingredients:

  • 2 slices of whole wheat square bread

  • 250 gr of lean ground beef

  • 250 gr of lean ground pork

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tablespoon of onion powder

  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder

  • 1 tablespoon of dried parsley

  • 1/2 tablespoon of dried basil

  • 1/2 tablespoon of dried oregano

  • 2 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese

  • salt and pepper

Preparation:

  • Place the bread slices in a food processor to make breadcrumbs.

  • Add all ingredients to a deep bowl and combine well using your hands.

  • Weigh 30 gr of the meat mixture and shape it into a ball. Repeat this step with the remaining meat.

  • Cook the meatballs in a skillet with olive oil or cooking spray.

  • Once cooked, they can be left marinating in natural tomato sauce or simply add the sauce when serving.
