This recipe is a different way to use carbohydrates in our diet. It also contains ingredients that can help strengthen the immune system. It can be eaten alone or as a side dish to meat.

  • Grams of protein: 7g.

  • Grams of carbohydrates: 16 g.

  • Grams of fat: 10 g.

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of whole beans (can be red or black)

  • 1 cup of sweet corn

  • 1 cup of diced celery

  • 1/2 cup of sweet pepper diced

  • 1/4 cup of diced onion

  • 2 tablespoons of hot pepper (optional)

  • 1/4 cup oil (olive, canola, or soy)

  • 1/4 cup white wine vinegar

  • A pinch of salt

Steps to Follow:

  • Combine the beans, corn, celery, sweet pepper, and onion in a deep bowl.

  • Combine the remaining ingredients (oil, vinegar, and salt) in another dish until well emulsified.

  • Add the oil-based dressing to the bean mixture, and let marinate for one hour.
