Ingredients:

  • 1 kilogram lean ground beef

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 1/2 cup finely chopped onion

  • 1 garlic clove minced

  • 1 1/2 cup sweet bell pepper cut into thin strips

  • 1 cup finely diced carrot

  • 3/4 cup raisins

  • 1/2 cup white wine

  • 15 sliced olives

  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 1 can natural tomato sauce

Preparation:

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat with cooking spray, cook the meat until it turns golden brown. Stir to break it apart. Remove from skillet and drain excess liquid.

  • In the same skillet, add the olive oil, garlic, and onion and sauté for 3 minutes.

  • Add the sweet bell pepper and carrot and sauté for 3 minutes.

  • Return the meat to the skillet, add the raisins and the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring constantly.

  • Remove the bay leaves and season with salt and pepper.
