1 kilogram lean ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1 garlic clove minced
1 1/2 cup sweet bell pepper cut into thin strips
1 cup finely diced carrot
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup white wine
15 sliced olives
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
salt and pepper to taste
2 bay leaves
1 can natural tomato sauce
In a skillet over medium-high heat with cooking spray, cook the meat until it turns golden brown. Stir to break it apart. Remove from skillet and drain excess liquid.
In the same skillet, add the olive oil, garlic, and onion and sauté for 3 minutes.
Add the sweet bell pepper and carrot and sauté for 3 minutes.
Return the meat to the skillet, add the raisins and the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove the bay leaves and season with salt and pepper.
