These cookies are perfect as a snack or for breakfast. They are quite balanced nutritionally, 2 cookies equal 1 serving of grain.

  • Calories: 52 kcal.

  • Grams of fat: 2.1 gr. equals 1/2 serving of fat

  • Grams of protein: 0.9 gr.

  • Grams of carbohydrates: 7.7 gr. equals 1/2 serving of grain.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 cups of flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder

  • 1/8 teaspoon of baking soda

  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/4 cup of butter at room temperature

  • 2 tablespoons of cream cheese

  • 1 egg

  • 1/2 cup of sugar

  • 1 tablespoon of orange zest

  • 1 teaspoon of orange extract

Preparation:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Place parchment paper on a baking sheet.

  • In a medium deep bowl combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  • In another deep bowl mix with a hand mixer at medium speed, the butter, cream cheese, egg, sugar, zest, and orange extract. Beat for 3 minutes or until well combined. Add the flour mixture slowly and mix well.

  • Place the dough in cookie shapes (1 tablespoon) on the baking sheet, separated by approximately 2 fingers. Bake for 10 minutes or until the edges are golden.

  • Once ready, remove from the baking sheet with the paper and let cool.
