1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1/3 cup skim milk
1/3 cup fresh parsley
1 egg
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
680 gr lean ground beef
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Mix in a large bowl the breadcrumbs, milk, parsley, egg, Worcestershire sauce, onion, red pepper flakes, and garlic. Add the ground beef seasoned with salt and pepper to the mixture. Stir everything with your hands. Form 6 thick oval patties.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet. Place the meat ovals in the skillet and brown for 3 minutes on each side.
Mix in a bowl the ketchup, vinegar, and sugar. Place one tablespoon of this mixture on each meat patty. Add 1/2 cup of water to the skillet, cover, and cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
Transfer the meat to a plate. Place the remaining tomato mixture in the skillet and cook over high heat, stirring for 3 to 5 minutes, then place it over the meat and serve.
