Mashed potatoes are one of the most beloved side dishes. Here’s a recipe for preparing them with fewer calories while maintaining that delicious flavor.
Calories: 150 kcal.
Grams of fat: 1.6 gr.
Grams of carbohydrates: 31.2 gr. equivalent to 2 servings of grain
Grams of protein: 4.8 gr. equivalent to 1/2 serving of protein

1 kilogram of potatoes (6-7 medium potatoes) peeled and cubed
3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of skim milk
1 tablespoon of light butter or margarine
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup of chives
Place the potatoes in a large pot with water and salt. Bring to a boil. Cover the pot, reduce the heat slightly, and cook for about 20 minutes or until the potatoes are soft.
Once the potatoes are ready, drain the water well and return the potatoes to the pot.
Add the skim milk, butter, and chives to the pot. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher, incorporating all the ingredients. Once ready, season to taste with salt and pepper.
